Good membership, slow support

I joined the Professional Networking Membership last month. The access to Cyber Security Forums and Technical Webinars has been pretty solid for the price. I even found a few interesting discussions in the Privacy Professional Networking groups. My main gripe was with customer service. I had a small billing question and it took a few days to get a clear answer, which was a bit frustrating. The content is valuable, but they could definitely improve their response times for support.

Great value on membership

I was looking for a budget-friendly way to get into cybersecurity networking and found Tejas Cyber Network. I snagged a Professional Networking Membership during a promotional period, which was a nice 15% off. It felt like a good deal for all the resources available. I've already joined a Certification Prep Group and attended a few Technical Webinars. For the cost, the value is definitely there. I'm glad I waited for a discount, it made the purchase feel totally worth it.

Are there any good deals or discounts usually available for annual membership? October is coming up, maybe something for then?

M Michelle S. 1 week ago
October is actually one of their peak times for membership, I think that's when they sometimes drop some discounts, maybe 10-20% off. Keep an eye out.

Discounts are pretty rare, but when they happen, it's usually for annual fees during certain months. Wouldn't expect a huge sale though.

Thinking about signing up for the networking membership. Does Tejas Cyber Network do student discounts?

K Katie Taylor 3 weeks ago
Yeah they do! I got a student rate for my membership, just had to verify my student status during signup.

I think so, I've seen it mentioned. You usually have to look for a specific promo link or code for it, not just a general discount code.

How does Tejas Cyber Network compare to like, ISACA or SANS? I'm trying to figure out which community to join.

M Megan Brown 2 weeks ago
Tejas is definitely more project-oriented and focused on vendor-agnostic stuff. ISACA is good for audit and governance, SANS for deep technical training, but Tejas feels more about active collaboration and skill development without pushing specific products.

Different vibes for sure. Tejas is more community and hands-on projects. ISACA is more certifications and standards. SANS is super expensive training.

Is the cyber security mentorship program worth it, or should I just stick with the general networking membership?

A Anthony M. 4 weeks ago
Totally depends what you're looking for. If you need some structured guidance and a dedicated mentor, it's pretty solid. Otherwise, the networking alone is great for meeting people.

I just did the networking membership and found a lot of value connecting with folks there. The mentorship seems more for people just starting out or making a big career pivot, imo.
